Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies BabyBump uses, under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

Essential only by default

We don’t set any advertising or tracking cookies. By default the site uses only what’s strictly necessary to work, plus a small amount of local storage to remember:

  • Your week — if you use the week tracker, your current week is stored in your browser (bb_current_week) so we can highlight it. It never leaves your device.
  • Your cookie choice — we remember whether you’ve accepted optional analytics (bb_consent).

These are exempt from consent because they’re essential or set at your request.

If — and only if — you accept, we may load privacy-friendly analytics to understand which content is useful. No personal profiles, no advertising, no cross-site tracking.

TODO(nick): once an analytics provider is chosen (e.g. Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics — see the readiness brief P2-2), list it here with what it stores.

Managing your choice

Use the cookie banner to accept or decline optional analytics. You can change your mind any time by clearing the bb_consent value in your browser, and we’ll ask again.
