Editorial policy

This policy explains how BabyBump content is made, so you know what you’re reading and why you can trust it.
Information, not advice
BabyBump is a lifestyle publication. We provide general information and lived experience — not medical advice. Nothing here is a substitute for your midwife, GP or the NHS, and we say so clearly on health-adjacent pages. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or tell you what is safe for your body or your baby.
How we research and source
- Every health-adjacent claim is sourced to a primary authority — the NHS, Tommy’s, NICE, RCOG, or peer-reviewed research — and that source is linked at the foot of the page.
- We don’t invent statistics, quotes or citations. If a claim can’t be sourced, it’s cut.
- Product recommendations are based on hands-on use or clearly-stated research.
How we review and edit
- Every article is edited before publication. Drafts are never shown publicly.
- Where a piece is reviewed by a named expert, that reviewer and the review date appear on the page. See our review standards.
Updates and corrections
- Pages show a visible “last updated” date and are refreshed as guidance changes.
- Spotted something wrong? Tell us via contact and we’ll correct it promptly.
Independence and affiliate links
Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no cost to you. This never influences our recommendations. Affiliate content is disclosed clearly and close to the relevant links.
